NotesIn this article, the authors used two different methods to measure the impacts of Oregon’s marine reserve system. “We compared treatment and control units before and after marine reserve implementation using both difference-in-differences (DID) and synthetic control approaches. Each approach yielded different results, potentially providing a more complete picture of marine reserve impacts and long-term trends while also highlighting the need to consider the variability of ACS [American Community Survey] data collected from small communities.” (from the Abstract)
