NotesOn March 11, 2011, the great Tōhoku earthquake shook Japan. The subsequent tsunami swept approximately 5 million tons of debris into the Pacific Ocean, some of which made its way across the Pacific and washed up on the North American West Coast. The debris carried hundreds of species, a surprising number of which survived the trip. In order to understand the potential for biological invasions, it was necessary to document these species. This poster documents some of the first algae identified. It is beautifully photographed.
