Notes | Reduced demand, lower prices, large inventories, uncertain markets and smaller runs combined to cause most of the salmon canneries on the Oregon Coast to close in 1921. The only canneries to operate were F.W. Gertulla’s cannery on the Siletz and the Macleay Estate Co. cannery on the Rogue. Table gives company name, location of headquarters, and packing statistics for Chinook and coho salmon. This table can be viewed in Google Books. |
