Notes | This interesting article gives a history of the discovery of marine mammal fossils in Oregon. Most of the article is concerned with a remarkable and extensive collection of fossils amassed by Douglas Emlong, of Lincoln City, Oregon, “who has already secured a special place in the history of vertebrate paleontology by collecting more marine mammal fossils of more kinds and more ages than anyone,” (p.433) and who gave his collection to the Smithsonian. |
