"The maximum flood of record on the Siletz River occurred in 1921, as the result of precipitation and the breaking of a small log pond dam in the community of Valsetz. This flood had an estimated recurrence interval of approximately 100 years. The most recent flood on the Siletz River occurred on January 11, 1972, with an estimated recurrence interval of 18 years."
