NotesReminiscences of an early settler on the Siletz River, mostly from a child’s point of view. Includes b+w photographs. “They used small meshed nets, and set them in the evening. Some stretched their nets across the river and tied them at both ends. A lead line held the net down on the bottom, and a cork line held one edge on top of the water. They were like a wall, and the salmon couldn’t get through to their spawning grounds.” (p.31)
